The Point System Introduction

                                     The Point System

Introducing the point system for basketball match previews. This point system will decide who wins, solely based off of statistics and no logistics or "guessing" involved. This point system will not include injuries that may be substantial to the match's outcome. It will also not include activity that doesn't show up on the stat sheet (energy, durability, stamina, hustle, etc.) This systematic and reliable way of getting statistics out there before making a rational and gut feeling decision is great for persuasiveness and getting to know the two teams and what their play style is. Here is the point system and its way of work.

*Points vary to the worse team in each category depending on how much they are worse by and how good they are in each category.
*Max amount of points a team can get is 65.
*Ties are broken by going to the team with the better record for the season

Overall Offense (ability to score the basketball and create fluid possessions when in control of the basketball) - Worth 12 points to the better offensive team.

Overall Defense (ability to stop the opposing team from scoring the basketball and create fluid situations when not in control of the basketball) - Worth 12 points to the better defensive team.

Points in the paint/opposing points in the paint (ability to get down close to the net in the painted area to score and stop the opposing team from getting in the painted area to score) - Worth 3 points to the better team at getting down low in the paint and scoring.
